What can I purchase from the App Store?
At the App Store, you can browse and download applications for your iPhone or iPod touch. You can also download games exclusively designed to play on iPod nano (3rd generation), iPod classic, and iPod (5th generation).
Applications from the App Store can be downloaded to, but not used, on your computer. To use an application from the App Store, simply sync it to a your iPod or iPhone.
The App Store is also available on iPhone or iPod touch1 and works over cellular networks and Wi-Fi, so you can download applications wirelessly and start using them instantly.
To use applications or the App Store with iPhone or iPod touch, you must first upgrade iPhone 2.0 Software Update on your iPhone or iPod touch.

How to use the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store:
Tap iTunes to purchase songs and albums from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store.
You can search for, browse, preview, purchase, and download songs and albums from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store directly to iPod touch or iPhone. Your purchased content is automatically copied to your iTunes library the next time you sync iPod touch or iPhone with your computer.Note: Movies, TV shows, audiobooks, and podcasts are not available from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store. If an album has bonus content, it will be downloaded to the computer when you sync or if you check for purchases.
To use the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, iPod touch or iPhone must join a Wi-Fi network that is connected to the Internet. For information about joining a Wi-Fi network, see the iPod touch Features Guide or the iPhone User's Guide.
You'll also need an iTunes Store account to purchase songs over Wi-Fi (available in some countries). If you don't already have an iTunes Store account, open iTunes and choose Store > Account to set one up.
Note: If you own an iPhone, you cannot use the cellular data network with the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store. If you attempt to use the cellular data network, the following prompt appears:
Browsing and Searching:
You can browse featured selections, top-ten categories, or search the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store music catalog for the songs and albums you're looking for. Use the featured selections to see new releases and iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store recommendations. Top Tens lets you see the most popular songs and albums in each of several categories. If you're looking for a specific song, album, or artist, use Search.
Browse featured songs and albums:
Tap Featured and select a category at the top of the screen.
Browse top ten songs and albums:Tap Top Ten, then choose a category and tap Top Songs or Top Albums.
Search for songs and albums:Tap Search, tap the search field and enter one or more words, then tap Search.
See the songs on an album:Tap the album.
See the album a song is on:
Double-tab the song.
Purchasing Songs and Albums:
When you find a song or album you like in the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, you can purchase and download it to iPod touch or iPhone. You can preview a song before you purchase it to make sure it's a song you want.
Preview a song:
Tap the song.
Purchase and download a song or album:
Tap the price, then tap Buy Now.
Note: To purchase songs from the Wi-Fi Music Store, you must also have been signed in to that account in iTunes the last time synced iPod touch or iPhone.
Enter your password and tap OK.
Your purchase is charged to your iTunes Store account. For additional purchases made within the next fifteen minutes, you don't have to enter your password again.
See the status of downloading songs and albums:
Tap Downloads.
To pause a download, tap
.If you need to turn off the device or leave the area of your Wi-Fi connection, don't worry about interrupting the download. The device starts the download again the next time it joins a Wi-Fi network with an Internet connection. Or if you open iTunes on your computer, iTunes completes the download to your iTunes library.
Purchased songs are added to a Purchased playlist on iPod touch or iPhone. If you delete the Purchased playlist, iTunes creates a new one when you buy an item from the iTunes Wi- Fi Music Store.

iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store Troubleshooting:
You can visit the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store from your iPod touch or iPhone. If you are having issues with the iTunes Wi-Fi Store, you may consider trying these steps.
Make sure you are connected to a Wi-Fi network
If you are having trouble connecting to the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store make sure you are connected to a Wi-Fi network. For help with getting connected, check the iPod touch Features Guide and this document.
Note: If you own an iPhone, you can connect to the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store over the cellular data network, but only for streaming and downloading podcasts.
Managing your downloads:
To see the status of downloading songs and albums, tap Downloads. You can then pause a download by tapping pause button.
If you need to turn off iPod touch or iPhone or leave the area of your Wi-Fi connection, don't worry about interrupting the download. iPod touch or iPhone starts the download again the next time iPod touch or iPhone joins a Wi-Fi network with an Internet connection. Or if you open iTunes on your computer, iTunes completes the download to your iTunes library.
Finding your purchased content
Purchased songs are added to a Purchased playlist on iPod touch or iPhone. If you delete the Purchased playlist, iTunes creates a new one when you buy an item from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store.
iTunes automatically syncs songs and albums you've purchased from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store back to your computer the next time you sync. This lets you listen to the purchases on your computer and provides a backup if you delete purchases from iPod touch or iPhone. The songs are synced to the "Purchased on (iPod/iPhone name)" playlist on your computer. iTunes creates the playlist if it doesn't exist. This playlist allows you to keep track of any purchases you've made on the go.
iTunes also syncs any purchases you made on the go to the Purchased playlist on your computer. Using the Purchased playlist, you can keep track of any purchases you've made on the go or on your computer all in one place.
You can use iTunes to verify that all the music, videos, and other items you bought from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store are in your iTunes library. You might want to do this if a download was interrupted.
Here's how:
Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet.
In iTunes 8, choose Store > Check for Available Downloads or, in iTunes 7, choose Store > Check for Purchases.
Enter your iTunes Store account ID and password, then click Check.
Purchases not yet on your computer will be downloaded.
If some of the songs downloaded on the iPod touch or iPhone and some downloaded on the computer, see this document for steps to transfer purchased content to the computer. Then you can sync to transfer the content downloaded on the computer back to your iPhone or iPod touch.
The Purchased playlist displays all your purchases. However, because you can add or remove items in this list, it might not be accurate. To see all your purchases, click iTunes Store, click Account, log in, and then click Purchase History.
A few things to keep in mind:
Some albums include bonus content, which is downloaded to your iTunes library on your computer. Not all bonus content is downloaded directly to iPod touch or iPhone.
While Parental Controls are not synced to your iPod touch or iPhone, songs and albums on the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store will be marked as either Clean or Explicit. When purchasing music, take care that you are purchasing the correct version of the song or album.

Changing the signed-in iTunes Store account:
When you sync your iPhone or iPod touch with your computer, the account last used to access the iTunes Store from the computer is synced to the mobile device for use in the iTunes Store from the device as well. This same account is used for the App Store as well. This account will be used on the device for both stores until you sign in from your computer to the iTunes Store with a different account, and then resync your mobile device with the computer.
When you sync your iPhone or iPod touch, the iTunes application on the computer will share its current iTunes Store account ID with the device you are syncing. This account ID will be used to make purchases from the iTunes Store and App Store on the mobile device.
The account ID that was synced to the device is displayed at the bottom of each page of the iTunes Store, so you'll always know what account you are using on the device. Simply open iTunes on your mobile device and scroll to the bottom of any page to see which account is currently in use.
Changing Your Account:
It is not possible to change the account in use on the device itself or to sync multiple accounts to your mobile device. To change the account you are using on your mobile device, go to your computer and sign in to the iTunes Store with the account you want to use on your mobile device, then sync your iPhone or iPod touch with your computer again. This will transfer the new account information to the mobile device. To sign in or out of an account in iTunes choose Store > Sign In (or Sign Out).
Editing Your Account Information:
It is not possible to change your account information from your mobile device. You can view and change your iTunes Store account information using iTunes on your computer by choosing Store > View My Account.
Changing Your iTunes Store Country:
It is not possible to change the iTunes Store country in use on the device itself. To change this on your mobile device, go to iTunes on your computer, change the iTunes Store to the country you want to use on your mobile device, then sync your iPhone or iPod touch with your computer again. To quickly change to the correct country for your account, choose Store > Sign In. If you are not using the correct iTunes Store country for your account you may see an error message advising that your account is only valid for purchases in the iTunes Store for your country when you try to download from the iTunes Store or App Store on your mobile device.
How to connect to the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store at Starbucks:
When you enter a participating Starbucks with an iPod touch, an iPhone, or a computer running the latest version of iTunes, you can access the iTunes Store and the Starbucks Now Playing content. To see if iTunes has arrived at your Starbucks, consult our list of participating Starbucks locations.
Connecting with an iPhone or iPod touch:
Before attempting to connect to the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, be sure that the iPhone or iPod touch software is up to date. Learn how to update your iPhone or iPod touch software.
You will also need to sync your iPhone or iPod touch with a computer that has an iTunes Store account set up in iTunes. Doing so will sync your iTunes Store account to your iPhone or iPod touch. All subsequent purchases you make with this device via the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store will be charged to this iTunes Store account.
When you are in a participating Starbucks, select tmobile from the list of Wi-Fi networks on your iPhone or iPod touch. To find the list of Wi-Fi networks, tap Settings and then tap Wi-Fi. Then, on the Wi-Fi Networks screen, tap tmobile to join the network.
Once you have joined the T-Mobile network, you can connect to the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store. Press the Home button to return to the Home screen and then tap iTunes. You are now connected to the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store and will be able to buy and download music. You can read up on how to browse and use the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store here.
To access the Starbucks Now Playing content, simply tap the Starbucks icon. From this screen you can purchase the currently playing song, any of the last 10 songs played, or songs from featured Starbucks Collections.
Connecting with a portable computer:
Before attempting to view the Starbucks Now Playing content, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed.
When you are in a participating Starbucks, select tmobile from your computer's list of Wi-Fi networks. If you have a Mac, you can learn how to join wireless networks here.
